Overtrading Strikes Again

Just when I think I am on the cusp of breaking through my issue with over-trading strikes and cripples me. This time I wasn’t even upset, I knew even before my account came crashing down what I had done and the crash was coming. A big reason why is I started trading another setup that had seen good results but when you get caught the wrong way with it then you have to very deep pockets to withstand the move before the retracement. I’ll talk about it in a future post b/c it is a setup I am not trading anymore but does have potential if tweaked. I’ll also go over in detail my main trade setup.  I am going back to my bread and butter because I took a $5k account to $23k and $800 to $4k before I over-traded each time. I know what not to do now even better so I am looking forward for what is to come. I’ve started investing in stocks that I’ll talk about as well in future posts because the growth is slower but safer.  I am also testing out futures using the MT5 platform through AMP Futures.

Here is myfxbook account that shows my forex performance: https://www.myfxbook.com/members/Curt_Hennig/mr-perfect/2141046

I’m hanging on by a thread and I’m not sure if I’ll add any money to the account.  The issue is that I don’t trust the forex broker.  It is Capital City Markets and they haven’t done anything to break my trust but I used to be with Tallinex and they transferred me over to CCM due to US regulations.  CCM is also located outside of the US so I’m wondering how long they’ll accept US clients before they move their US clients to another broker or shut them down altogether.  If the US brokers over here offered better leverage than 1:50 then it would be great but from what I have seen that is the maximum leverage they can offer (Oanda, Forex.com, Ameritrade, ATC).

Hi Evan, i would like to know if the work Steve Ira performed on you was permanent or did it fade off?
were there any side effects that were positive or negative?
did it help you with trading in any significant way ?
did you have to use other methods with Steve Iras work to help you with trading issues?
I wrote and replyed to the original Steve Ira blog, If you can check it out it would be awsome, because I have many questions about his method since I am about to do my first session, I want to do my due diligence and cant find much on Steve Ira. Im wondering if the method he implements on traders is just going to fade off.
    Best Regards,
    Alexander

  • Sorry to hear about your over trading but this leads me to ask about yourblog post from September of last year when you spent time with Steve Ira to try to solve your trading issues at that time. You said it was a method close to fast EFT…

So, I guess the question(s) are; do you feel that the benefits you talked about last year have somewhat diminished/vanished? Or, do you see a revisit to Steve to address these new issues as being appropriate?

I am considering talking to Steve so I wanted to know if the benefits are short lived etc.

Thanks, and I hope you manage to overcome your own over trading issues.

Hi Paul, Did you get to take the sessions with Steve Ira and how was it? I am also curious if his method works and if its long lasting or that I would wasted my money and have to go on finding something else to help me with my trading issues.
I have sent a reply to Evan Carthy or Mr Perfect , maybe you can take a look at the reply, I have many questions about Steve Ira, im doing my due diligence. I found one of the guys on hus video on linkedin, and hes not a trader anymore, he works in the service department of a auto dealership. the other three on the video , I cant find any profiles on them. Im scheduled for my first session next week and Im 80% sure I dont want to do it now with my findings.

    • Hi Paul,

Steve Ira was great! When I met with Steve it was for other issues not related to trading. Mainly regarding anxiety and stress over my job at the time. I think the benefits from the sessions with Steve helped open me up to identify when I was making the same mistakes over and over again. It started the process to help me identify the issues I have and had, not bury my head in the sand after my mistakes. Now I own up to them and seek to address them head-on. I definitely feel that if I had another couple of sessions with Steve to tackle this exact issue of my ego and over trading that it would get rid of the problem even though I feel that I have taken the necessary steps to address it currently.
